Public Hearing: After some technical difficulties the Public Hearing opened at 7:10 pm.
Budget Presentation: Laurie Colburn narrated a slide presentation explaining the operating budget. Exact information and the tax impact were not available due to changes made during recent meetings.
Warrant articles reviewed and discussed: Jen Richardson read each of the warrant articles. Members of the audience were encouraged to ask questions. Several questions about the warrant articles proposing the purchase of a truck and lease-purchase of a backhoe were answered and discussed. There was also discussion of the order in which the articles appeared on the warrant. Some audience members said it would be better if the high expense articles appeared at the beginning on the warrant and others said it would be better if voting happened on the less expensive first so that there would be a clearer idea of remaining funds. Ultimately, the order in which the warrant articles appear will be decided by the Select Board. Voters may motion to change the order warrant articles are taken up during Town Meeting.
