ANIMAL CONTROL
Preamble: Pursuant to the authority conferred to the Board of Selectmen by applicable chapter of the New Hampshire RSA 47:17, in order to promote the public safety and health and to provide for the general welfare of the citizens of the Town of Bradford, the following ordinance is hereby enacted:
1. It shall be unlawful for any person having the charge or custody of any domestic animals including but not limited to sheep, goats, cattle, horses, swine, or fowl knowingly, recklessly or negligently permit or cause said animal to enter upon, pass over or remain upon a public highway or sidewalk in a manner which interferes with the free passage and safety of pedestrians or vehicular traffic.
2. It shall also be unlawful for any person having charge or custody of said animal(s) to knowingly, recklessly or negligently permit or cause said animal(s) to enter upon, pass over or remain upon any improved or enclosed land of another without written permission of the owner, occupant or his/her agent.
3. Violation of this ordinance will result in a fine of not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00).
4. This ordinance is authorized under powers granted to the Selectmen under RSA 31:39, 47:11 and is to take effect upon passage.
