1987 ORDINANCE RELATING TO PUBLIC DANCES, CARNIVALS AND CIRCUSES

Pursuant to the authority invested in the Selectmen of the Town of Bradford under New Hampshire Revised Statutes Annotated 105:9 the following ordinance is hereby enacted, to regulate the conduct of persons who attend public dances, and tends to promote the public health, safety, morals and general welfare, and is clearly within police powers of the State, and therefore is constitutional.

Any person or persons desiring to conduct a public dance, carnival or circus with or without an entrance charge, in any location other than on the Town Hall property, shall detail one or more police officers to attend the same, whose services shall be paid for by the person or persons in charge of the dance, carnival or circus. No person or persons shall conduct any such event on the Town Hall property or in the Town Hall, shall advise the Chief of Police, in such detail as he may require concerning the proposed event, and the Chief may, but need not waive this requirement of police attendance, if such a waiver is granted, the promoter (s) of the event shall pay a charge of Ten Dollars (10.00) to the Chief of Police for the use of the Town, and the Chief will monitor the event to the extent he deems wise, from the Police Station in the Town Hall. Whoever violates the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a statutory violation.
