  1. Review and approval of October Minutes.

  • Status of Revision Energy Solar Energy Proposal for Transfer Station Property

Information supplied by the Zoning Board has indicated that the proposed site, being on town property, does not need Zoning Board approval. However, Kathleen will attend meetings of both Zoning and Planning Boards in December to present the plan, with a map of proposed sites, and field questions and concerns.

We will request to be on the agenda in January to present the plan to the Selectboard. Ned Raynalds from Revision Energy will also be asked to attend these meetings.

The concern was voiced that the chosen site on the 45-acre parcel of land consider other future uses of this property.

The size of the installation will be larger if other contiguous municipalities wish to be included. We need to find out from Ned Raynalds the status of this possibility.

  • Status of Implementation of Energy Audit Energy Saving Recommendations for four Bradford Municipal Facilities

Quotes are just in from Shakes to Shingles and Quality Insulation.  The scale of work and costs vary, and Sandra will now make a spread sheet to compare and make recommendations.

The plan is to present another round of Energy Savings Measures for approval at the next town Meeting.

  • Proposed Weatherization Campaign Update

Funds to NH Saves have been cut and future weatherization efforts are in jeopardy for all Residential, Commercial, and Municipal projects. This is a critical issue for the state and following this evening’s meeting, the BEC attended a public forum of our two State Representatives, also meeting at the BACC this evening.

  • Improving Public Presence of BEC

We are planning a schedule for future articles for the Bradford Bridge. Suggested topics:

E-Bikes, Window Dressers inserts community building program, Solar farms, follow-up on the Library Weatherization, the state of energy legislation in New Hampshire. (New Hampshire ranks last in New England for clean energy funding.)

  • BEC documentation management

Our shared Google Drive is up and running. Folders include Minutes, Weatherization Projects, Solar Energy Proposal, and other topics related to reducing energy use and developing clean energy.

  • Other Items

We would like to look at the future energy needs of the Town Hall. Look at the updated plans for the 1st floor of the building and assess whether there are energy savings measures that could qualify for funding through federal, state, or private grants.

We will also investigate the possibilities for an installation of solar roof panels on the Town Hall.

Sandra and Susan will attend an informational meeting with the non-profit organization, “Window Dressers”. This is a program that harnesses volunteers within a community to make low-cost window inserts. Window inserts typically save 10 gallons of heating oil per window and dramatically improve the comfort of a home. Inserts are offered free to low-income families.

We also see that we need to get more involved in the state of clean energy projects in NH.  It alarming to see funds for weatherization declining and we will discuss this in our next meeting.

  • Conclude

The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 14th, 5:00-6:00 pm at theBACC

Respectfully submitted,

Susan Reeder Moss
