Town of Bradford Budget Committee’s Public Hearing

Dick Keller, Chair opened the Budget Committee’s Public Hearing at 7:00pm with two people in the public section.
The 2014 Operating Budget was gone over, and discussion included:
Executive – Difference regarding wage adjustments over the last several years.
Election and Vital Records-extra election this year.
Employee Benefits – Down to zero as now are being distributed between each individual department.
Planning & Zoning– Increased $400.00 for using Central N H Planning
Gen. Government Bldgs.-Late request to do work on Town Hall. Capital Reserve Money is there and could be used.
Other Government Buildings- Milfoil and Boat Launch at LakeMassasecum
Police Dept- Increase from Benefits
Highway Increase from–Benefits
From Bradford Budget Committee Recommendations on 2014 Warrant Articles:
Article Seven: Town Hall Restoration Warrant Article discussed as being Notes and Bonds at $1,300,000, with Grants/Others at $166,000 for a total of $1,466,000
Article Nine: $95,000 for roofing of Town Hall should Article Seven fail (reported shingles bare in some areas over stage)
Article Eleven-Breezy Hill Road Bridge
Article Twelve-Highway Department, Ford 550 1 Ton truck, from. Capital Reserve
Article Thirteen-Asphalt – Shimming and Paving for Highway Dept.
Article Fourteen-Bridge Design-for Route 114 Breezy HillRoadBridge
Article Fifteen-Tabled until the February 10th Selectmen’s Meeting
Article Eighteen-Boat Launch
Article 20-Central New Hampshire Regional Planning to help set up CIP
Article 21-Capital Reserve
Warrant Articles as Presented by Board of Selectmen for 2014: $598,076
Budget Committee Budget for 2014: $417,376.
It was reiterated that the second Budget Committee Public Hearing will be held on February 12, 2014 at 7:00pm
