CEMETERY MINUTES MAY 13 ,2015
Members present : Carey Rodd , Jane Lucas , Diane Whalley and ,Custodian ,Jim Lord.
OLD BUSINESS :
Discussion was held about how the signs for Presbury , Marshall and New Pond will be mounted. The signs will be posted on 4×4 posts at each of the three cemeteries.
Having only the $1500 funded for the tree line -item , we will have to be selective on which trees need to be attended to first. We know there are trees in Baptist , New Pond , and Marshall that need to be taken down . We will try to find someone who can do the most for that amount.
NEW BUSINESS:
Jane gave a report on headstones that were down or damaged in New Pond ,Presbury and Old Pond where she was posting the veteran flags . Diane will contact Cornerstones Headstone repair and for meeting with Keith Racine to make arrangements for prioritizing repairs.
Diane has purchased a gallon of D-2 for headstone cleaning and is waiting to hear back from the student community coordinator for students who can help with the cleaning at Sunny Plains . A date has been set for 5/14/15.
Thank you to Jane Lucas for donating 2 water spray pumps to be used for cleaning where there is no accesss to water
Jim has started removing dead shrubs on the list for Sunny Plains. He did not have the list with him for the meeting .
There were 2 burials this month , one in Sunny Plains and one in New Pond.
There are 2 pending sale of lots at Sunny Plains.
The annual seminar with the Attorney General’s , Charitable Funds office will be held June 4th in Concord . Diane is the only one able to attend .
Carey will be adding new data to the maps and cemetery census.
Diane and Jane have recently been to Pleasant Hill cemetery to confirm data acquired from corrected information from town records. More needs to be done.
