Bradford Conservation Commission Meeting Minutes
May 17, 2016, 7pm at Brown Memorial Library
Present: George Beaton, Seth Benowitz, Meg Fearnley, Patty Furness, Scott MacLean, and Brooks McCandlish
Secretary’s Draft Report: The draft meeting minutes of 4/19/16 were accepted as read.
Treasurer’s Report: Meg stated there was $2.38 interest earned on accounts for April. A reimbursement of $130 was made to J Ann Eldridge for maps.
Ausbon Sargent: There will be a walk led by Andy Deegan at the Old College Rd Preserve on Saturday, May 21 at 1pm.
Warner River Protective Designation Program: Scott reported that the committee intends to continue working on the nomination process over the next year. The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday May 18 at 7pm at the Warner town hall.
Permit for Agriculture in Wetland/Shoreland Area: Ann spoke with the landowner and made recommendations for location of the hoop house/greenhouse.
Senate Bill 324: There is no further news on the status of this bill which proposes to limit federal land ownership in the state, limiting the total to no more than 5% of the total valuation of all real estate in a community.
Abandoned Vehicles on a Public Road: A letter was drafted and sent to the property owner. The town of Bradford is aware and will be following up.
Carter Hill Road Building Permit Application: The status of this application is unknown by any members.
2016 Bradford Master Plan: The Planning Board may be requesting assistance with the Master Plan. The survey deadline has been extended, and a mailer will be sent out.
Conservation Considerations: There are two landlocked lots for sale on East Washington Road which abut the Bradford Bog. Seth will inquire about the selling price. Also, there is a 13 acre property for sale on Center Road for 90K.
July 4th Booth: Scott will supply information on the Warner River Protective Designation Program, such as a map of the river, pamphlets and information sheets.
With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:55pm. The next scheduled meeting is Tuesday, June 21, 2016, 7pm at Brown Memorial Library.
