Present: Meg Fearnley, George Beaton, Brooks McCandlish, Nathanial Bruss, Doug Southard
Minutes of the 9/17/ 2024 meeting were reviewed and approved as written.
Moved by Brooks, seconded by Meg, to authorize Ann to spend up to $100 from the 2024 budget for additional turtle crossing signs – unanimously approved
Moved by George, seconded by Nathanial to add $200 to Trail Maintenance for the 2025 budget request, for a total 2025 Conservation Commission budget of $1,200 – unanimously approved
Note was made but no action taken on the following topics:
Status of Butman Road
Proposed tree cutting behind Center Meeting House
Initial discussions before the Planning Board about proposed cluster development major subdivision on County Road
Upcoming ASPLT roundtable meeting
Rett has been working with Ben Nugent and Steve Hall on grant applications for several culvert replacements on town roads.
George and Sawyer Willet worked on the Knights Hill trail through Low State Forest.
Planning Board’s proposed Surface Water Protection District on its way to Town Counsel, with Public hearing(s) to follow
Ann and George completed the monitoring of Aiken Pasture.
VRAP stream assessments: 4 samples at each of 14 locations were completed in 2024.

NH OPED Zoom meeting about community engagement 10/8 at 1pm
Ann and George to give talk about trails and public access – at Brown Memorial Library 11/6 at 6pm
ASPLT sponsored program on Battles Farm past and present, with George, Ann, and Laurie
Buchar 11/15, 1pm at Battles Farm
