Meeting Minutes
18 October 2016, 7pm at Brown Memorial Library
Present: George Beaton, Seth Benowitz, Nathanial Bruss, J Ann Eldridge, Meg Fearnley, Scott MacLean, Brooks McCandlish.
Budget due this Friday. Discussed budget needs for the coming year. Settled on a figure to request: $916. This is a $30 increase over the current budget, due to inadequate funding for attending conferences in the current budget.
Discussed Conservation Commission’s part in funding the Payne easement. Approved immediate expenditure of up to $5,000, if necessary. Kept open the possibility of additional funding depending upon developments in the project and future needs. Ann will attend a meeting about funding with other parties to the project on Friday, Oct 21.
Discussed Boardwalk Repair Day this coming Sunday (Oct. 23), and opportunities for getting labor help.
Ann, George, and Seth will attend the NHACC annual meeting on Nov 12.
Scott met with selectmen to discuss the nomination of the Warner River to the NH Rivers Management and Protection Program. Scott presented a copy of a letter signed by the 3 selectmen expressing strong support for this effort. There will be a public meeting about this project on Nov. 17, at 7 p.m. in the Bradford Community Center.
The Planning Board has requested Conservation Commission assistance with the ‘buildout analysis’ part of the Master Plan. The Conservation Commission discussed getting bids from several parties who are experienced and competent with this process.
George talked with Doug Webb of the Lumber Barn about their proposed building project. They want to expand the present building in back (towards the Warner river.)
Conservation Commission will ask Bill Duffy to do a public show about his recent trip to Greenland. January, 2017, was discussed as an opportune time for this.
Meeting adjourned at 8:35 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Seth Benowitz
