The meeting was called to order at 6:07. Present were Scott McCaskill (chairman), Matt Monahan (CNHRPC, via Zoom), Mel Pfeifle, and Jim Bibbo. Michele Halsted from the Rural Heritage Connection was also present as a guest contributor.
Matt reviewed the status of the ERZ application. The application has been informally viewed by state officials, who indicate that it looks to be in order. Matt will complete some final details and put it before the Select Board for a vote. If voted in favor, it will then be formally submitted to the state for final approval. This may happen before the end of the year. The state can then provide assistance on implementation of the proposal.
We discussed possible uses for a 45-acre parcel, owned by the town, at the junction of routes 114 and 103. We need to look into getting a brownfields assessment of the parcel. We will make this a continuing agenda item for 2022.
Michele Halsted spoke about the Abenaki Trail project being developed for the Bradford Springs site. The RHC is excited about the possibilities for this project.
The status of the Town Hall renovation was discussed. We need to find ways to promote this effort, by highlighting the significance of the theatre’s connection to Vaudeville. There appears to be some interest in the area, of renting the theatre for local events if and when it becomes available.
The meeting was closed at 7:10.
