Nomination of the Warner River into the
New Hampshire Rivers Management and Protection Program
The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) and the New Hampshire Rivers Management Advisory Committee will hold a public hearing in Warner on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. to accept public comments on the nomination of the Warner River into the New Hampshire Rivers Management and Protection Program. The Warner River Nomination Committee and the Central New Hampshire Regional Planning Commission submitted a nomination application to NHDES on June 1, 2017. The application is available for review on the NHDES website at https://www.des.nh.gov/organization/

The NHDES Rivers Coordinator has determined the application meets state requirements, making the river eligible for consideration during the next legislative session for designation into the Rivers Management and Protection Program. Following the public hearing, the NHDES Rivers Coordinator and the Rivers Management Advisory Committee will make their respective recommendations to the NHDES Commissioner by October 2017. The Commissioner will review the nomination and make a determination whether to forward the nomination to the General Court for legislative approval by November 2017.
