SELECTMEN’S MEETING
MARCH 6, 2012
5:30PM
The Pledge of Allegiance was said:
Call to Order and Roll Call:
Harry Wright, Chair called the meeting to order at 5:30pm with Barry Wheeler, Cheryl Behr, Administrator, Marilyn Gordon, Treasurer and Marge Cilley, Secretary present. Jack Meaney is absent.
Brackett Scheffy, Town Moderator:
Brackett Scheffy, Town Moderator came before the Selectmen to see if there is anything he should be made aware of prior to Town Meeting. Brackett emphasized the importance of the Selectmen responding to questions. With no reflection on Cheryl Behr, Administrator, but it could carry more weight for the Selectmen to respond. Brackett also stated he had spoken with the Budget Chair, Dick Keller and they are also going to be bringing up topics and answer questions pertaining to their budget. Harry Wright, Chair advised the Selectmen are planning on being more involved and Cheryl Behr will be furnishing back up information.
It was thought that several Articles will probably require paper ballot voting. Several ways of handling this were discussed.
Another topic regarding Town Meeting was the timing of it, and if it would need to be continued to another day.
Two Selectmen need to be in attendance at the voting per Sue Pehrson, Town Clerk.
Regular Business:
Accounts payable and payroll manifests were reviewed and signed.
Current use paperwork was signed
Cheryl Behr stated there was a letter to be signed for Marilyn Gordon, Treasurer to transfer $100,000. for the Operating Budget.
The Personnel Policy was handed out to the Selectmen for approval for the next Selectmen’s meeting.
Cheryl Behr advised there was a Safe Routes to School meeting.
Cheryl Behr notified everyone the Town Reports are in.
Cheryl Behr advised the Hazard Mitigation has been denied being unfunded, and they will have to file again next year.
Mention was made of the upcoming Budget Committee meeting on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at 6:30pm. Cheryl advised she was told to be prepared to attend. Harry Wright, Chair advised he will be there also.
Don Jackson is concerned why the Town Hall parking lot has not been plowed. Last Sunday there was no place to park for the Church or Library, being inconvenient as well as a safety issue. Harry Wright, Chair requested Cheryl to contact the Highway Dept. to take care of it.
Brackett Scheffy questioned why some of the Articles have the Selectmen as well as Budget Committee’s approval or disapproval, and some did not. Cheryl Behr advised it is not new, just picked up this year by Laura Spector, Town Attorney and the Department of Revenue makes the decision.
Meeting adjourned to go into Non Public session with taxpayer per RSA 91 A3IId and Tax Collector. Non public session per RSA 91 A3IIa Personnel Issues. At 5:55pm.
