Board of Selectmen Meeting Minutes
October 3, 2016
Pledge of Allegiance
Meeting called to order at 5:30pm
Roll Call- John Pfeifle, Chairman; Sonny Harris, Selectman; Jim Bibbo, Selectman
Karen Hambleton, Town Administrator; Marilyn Gordon, Treasurer were in attendance
Appearances
Carolyn Stiles asked for clarification on Class VI roads. She was interested in who owns a Class VI road, how maintenance was handled, what happens when maintenance encroaches onto private property, how permission to maintain is given and what the definition of road maintenance is. The Selectmen agreed that the Road Agent would take measurements and that a Selectman would visit Bible Hill Road. The Select Board will revisit this in 2 weeks. Karen had an inquiry as to the Class VI status of Deer Valley Road; the Select Board was able to answer her question.
Regular Business
- Town Hall Update: Still waiting on heating. The furnace should be in Concord; the basement still needs to be sheet-rocked.
- Letter of Concern: The Select Board was presented with a letter of concern regarding the recent handling of an inspection station application. The Select Board noted the concern and requested letter’s authors come in if they felt the issue remained unresolved.
- Timber Tax Abatement Request: The Select Board reviewed the request for timber tax abatement and voted 3-0 to deny the request.
- Sign Intent to Cut May 7/Lot 49: The Selectmen signed the Intent to Cut.
- Sign LSB TAN note: The Selectmen signed the LSB TAN note.
- NH Association of Assessing Officials ballot: Karen asked if the Select Board wanted to return the ballot. They authorized her to complete the ballot.
- Expense Report: John briefly reviewed the 3rd quarter expense report. There was nothing unexpected to highlight.
- Joint Safety Committee: Karen reminded the Selectmen that the Town needs to hold meetings 4 times a year. The Select Board asked her to set something up for later this month.
- Meeting Schedule: There will be no meeting next week due to Columbus Day. Weekly Select Board meetings will resume on October 17th.
Accounts Payable and Payroll Manifest reviewed and signed.
Minutes of October 3, 2016 meeting were reviewed and accepted with no change.
The next Selectmen’s meeting will be held on Monday, October 17, 2016 at the Town Hall.
