7:01 – After a brief recess, the Board reconvened.
Pledge of Allegiance
Roll Call – Jason Allen (Chair), Marlene Freyler, Michael James (via ZOOM) and Karen Hambleton, Town Administrator, were in attendance.
Motion: Jason Allen motioned to seal the minutes from the non-public session.
Second: Marlene Freyler
Decision: 3-0
Jason read a letter from Michael James into record. Michael outlined his commitment and motivations for his service as a Select Board member as well as many initiatives he has participated in within the Town. He cited conflicts with Marlene Freyler as a tension point within the Board and submitted his resignation effectively immediately.
Jason Allen announced his resignation as well. He outlined his objectives in serving the Town and the challenges he has had, leading to his resignation.
Karen asked if one of the Selectman would extend their service to allow time for the Town to address the resignations. Jason outlined a conversation with New Hampshire Municipal Association which indicates that, once issued, a resignation cannot be reversed.
Marlene Freyler adjourned the meeting at 7:17pm, to be continued on January 28th, 2021, at 6:00pm.
