Board of Selectmen Meeting Minutes
June 29, 2015
Pledge of Allegiance
Meeting called to order at 5:30pm
Roll Call- John Pfeifle, Chairman; Sonny Harris, Selectman; Harry Wright, Selectman
Appearances
- Letter from M. Cilley read to record regarding a lack of enforcement of the Town of Bradford Dog Ordinance. Town Administrator will talk to the Road Agent about making signs to post regarding removal of dog defecation.
- Residents Scott Biron and Peter Voss present to hear update on Pond Bridge. Advised of unsafe activities happening on the unfinished bridge and expressed concerns over the barge’s location interfering with swimming area. Selectmen stated that people should be using the public access site near the bridge and that they will get an update from the Road Agent regarding the bridge’s completion.
- Chief Valiquet’s presence was requested to remind the public that with the upcoming July 4th festivities vigilance is key and to please let officers know if you see anything suspicious. Times and details of E. Main St road shut down were discussed.
Regular Business
- Donation accepted by the Selectmen for deposit into the Bradford Independence Day Trust Fund. Check will be given to the Trustees for deposit.
- Selectmen voted 3-0 to accept the resignation of a Bradford Police Officer.
- Selectmen reviewed and signed thank you letters addressed to resigned THRC members.
- Letter read to record appointing the RHC as Capital Planner to the THRC signed by Selectmen. A copy of the letter will be provided for the 6/29 RHC meeting.
- Details of proposed fundraising event at Town Hall held by LCHIP in late July for Town Hall restoration discussed.
- Intent to excavate signed by Selectmen.
- Dog warrant from Town Clerk’s office signed by Selectmen
- Selectmen wished the Town Administrator’s husband a speedy recovery
- Selectmen thanked those involved with putting flower boxes on Main St. for their contribution and efforts
- Chair advised that the Road Agent thinks he can get Old Warner Rd completed within half of the originally anticipated budget. Selectmen would like a detailed cost explanation.
- D. Whalley of the Cemetery Commission informed the town office that the trees requiring removal at local cemeteries have been marked.
Pending Issues
- Autocraft update given- out of the 30+ vehicles inspected by the Police Dept. only 2 have been deemed road worthy.
- Unpermitted shed on Center Rd- information has been given to the Building Inspector
- Letter from M. Kenyon read to record with questions regarding details of septic inspection. Town Administrator will respond to letter.
Accounts Payable and Payroll Manifest reviewed and signed.
Minutes of June 15, 2015 meeting were reviewed and accepted with no edits.
Motion to adjourn public session at 6:27pm, voted 3-0.
