Selectmen’s minutes from the January 4, 2016 meeting.
Preliminary
Selectmen called the meeting to order at 5:30pm
In attendance were Harry Wright, Selectman; John Pfeifle, Chairman; Sonny Harris, Selectman. Treasurer Marilyn Gordon and Administrator Cheryl Behr were also in attendance.
Pledge of Allegiance opened the meeting.
1. Molly Hopkins-Small was introduced as our new recording secretary.
2. A resolution naming the Town Administrator, Cheryl Behr, as the authorized signature for Primex insurance applications was unanimous. Board voted to engage Primex to carry the town’s workers comp, property liability and unemployment insurance.
3. Barry Wheeler has repaired the street sign on Fairgrounds Road.
4. Cheryl questioned the charging of doomage on two Timber Tax bills. Selectmen instructed the office to charge the doomage.
5. Current Use application for Bradford Fish and Game was signed and vote was taken to abate the $83.00 tax charged on the parcel.
6. The selectmen voted to continue working with the State Dept of Transportation on the Municipal Managed Bridge program. Selectmen will discuss the next bridge to be addressed with the Road Agent.
7. Contract for assessing services was signed with Cross Country Appraisal.
8. Appointment paperwork signed for Camila Devlin to be the Town Clerk/Tax Collector. She will need to run for the office this year to complete the term of Erica Gross.
9. Selectmen reviewed warrant articles. Mark Goldberg and Carl Goldberg explained the Fire Dept’s two warrant articles – One for floor drains and a washer/dryer to maintain the fire gear and the Capital Reserve request (approved by the CIP) for a pumper truck.
10. Andrew Pinard reported on the School budget. The anticipated budget increase will be 2.06%. This figure does not include the Teachers Contract still under negotiation.
11. Andrew Pinard also requested the Road Agent prepare a turnaround at the end of Church Street. Many people park on the street for events at the Library and Church and on weekends his driveway is used as a turnaround. This has caused damage to his property. Selectmen will discuss the matter with the Road Agent.
