TOWN HALL RESTORATION COMMITTEE MEETING
MAY 17, 2012
7:00PM
Call to Order and Roll Call:
Eileen Kelly, Chair opened the meeting at 7:10pm with Caryl Walker, Dick Keller, Marcia Keller, Sandy Wright, John Greenwood, George Cilley, and Marge Cilley, Secretary. Beth Rodd, Michele Halsted and Audrey Sylvester were absent.
Review and Consideration of May 5, 2012 minutes.
Motion was made by Marcia Keller to approve the minutes as presented. Seconded by John Greenwood. Carried Unanimously.
Rick Monahon, Architect working on the town hall has been over to look at it last Friday. The lawyer has not contacted Rick at this time, however, Harry Wright, Selectmen will check on this again tomorrow. His next tentative date is scheduled for 6/14/2012 @ 7:00.
July 7th Events:
Art Show
Some discussion took place regarding pursuing putting on the Art Show at the upstairs of the town hall that was done and so well received last year. Audrey will be asked if she will be able to work at it this year with the list. A letter will be written to the Selectmen advising of the plans to use it again this year. Time will be from Thursday, setting it up, through Sunday morning, taking it down.
Raffle
Yes, a raffle will be held again this year with some promoting at the post office prior to the 7th of July.
Float for the Parade
Thought to be a good idea, and several different ideas came to mind.
Fund Raising:
Several different methods of fund raising were brought up, including, but not limited to:
Sale of Cups, Calendars, Restaurants charging and donating extra $1.00, use of Massasecum Casino for a dance, letters requesting donations from large companies.
Mention was made that the town quilt is now being hung in the Congregational Society building at the Center, and will be returned to the town hall when that project has been completed.
Water Testing:
The equipment has been received to do the water testing at the town hall, and will be done shortly.
Next meeting is scheduled for: THURSDAY, MAY 31, 2012 AT 7:00PM.
