Call to Order and Roll Call:
Eileen Kelly, Chair opened the meeting at 7:13pm with Beth Rodd, Audrey Sylvester, John Greenwood, Marcia Keller, Dick Keller, and Marge Cilley, Secretary present.
Michele Halsted, Sandy Wright, Caryl Walker and George Cilley were absent.
Review and Consideration of May 17, 2012 minutes:
Motion was made by Dick Keller to approve the May 17, 2012 minutes as presented. Seconded by Audrey Sylvester. Motion carried 6-0.
Events of July 7th:
Discussion took place regarding the Art Show at the Town Hall on July 7th with set up being on Thursday, July 5th, the show on Saturday the 7th, and taking down on Sunday July 8th. The Selectmen gave their approval of the use of the Town Hall at their last Selectmen’s meeting. Decision has not been made at this time, but something may be done on Friday as well. There will be a meeting of the Art Committee to be held on Sunday June 3, 2012 at the Pizza Chef, where definite decisions will be made. Audrey Sylvester will forward a list of the members of the Art Committee to the THRC members. A mailing is ready to forward to prospective Artists.
Other topics discussed for the July 7th events were the Raffle which will be held again this year with a rocking chair, maple syrup plus other items to be raffled off.
Also, if there are any sales of Art Work, a commission could be paid to the Rural Heritage Commission for the Town Hall Restoration.
Rural Heritage may want to do a display down stairs which can be set up directly after the 5K Race has left the area.
Discussion took place regarding making a float for the July 7th parade. Several ideas were presented and will be followed up on.
Fund Raising:
John Greenwood will follow up on a couple of ideas for fund raising with local businesses.
Andrew Pinard generously volunteered donating a production of his Magic Show later in the season, possibly doing it at the High School.
Andrew also questioned posting a video of the back drop on Youtube. Discussion followed.
An other topic of conversation was the filling of the flower pots and tubs at the town hall, and they will be done soon, as well as a schedule for watering.
The next meeting is scheduled for June 14th when Rick Monahon, Architect will be attending. If there is a need for a meeting prior to that, members will be notified and it will be posted.
