TOWN HALL RESTORATION COMMITTEE
P O BOX 436
BRADFORD, N.H. 03221
JUNE 14, 2012
7:00PM
Call to Order and Roll Call:
Eileen Kelly, Chair called the meeting to order at 7:15pm with Michele Halsted, Marcia Keller, Dick Keller, and Marge Cilley, Secretary present. George Cilley arrived at 7:30pm.
Review and Consideration of the May 31, 2012 minutes:
Motion was made by Dick Keller to accept the minutes as presented. Marcia Keller seconded. Motion carried 4-0.
Discussion of the fire alarm at the Town Hall:
Discussion ensued regarding the fire alarm being connected but it only making a noise and is not connected to dispatch. This was discussed at the last Selectmen’s meeting, and the Town Administrator is checking on the insurance ruling of this.
Rural Heritage Committee:
After discussion regarding how the Town Hall Restoration Committee can receive money from donations directly for the Town Hall from the Rural Heritage, specifically the Cornerstone Account, it was decided that Michele Halsted will write a letter to the Selectmen for support. This was thought to be able to be set up as an escrow account, but should contact the Local Government Center for set up feasibility and procedure.
Other topics were: the partnership with Rural Heritage Committee and the Town Hall Restoration Committee setting up and staffing a table outside in front of the Town Hall during the Art Show on July 7, 2012. Discussion ensued if this group would monitor the gallery or if some of the artists would do the monitoring. Some of the items that would be displayed and for sale would be the Bradford Town Hall Baseball Caps, Rural Heritage Committee Pledge Forms, Informational Sheets for the Town Hall Restoration, Raffle Tickets, as well as a Contribution Jar. Volunteers are needed to participate.
July 7th Events:
Again, discussion ensued regarding finding volunteers for manning the outside table for the raffle etc. at the Art Show. It was discussed and decided that June 28 and 29 will be clean up days at the Town Hall in preparation of the Art Show.
Fundraising:
Waiting for further information regarding Restoration Burger and Restoration Pizza from Beth Rodd and John Greenwood who are checking up on them.
Other Business:
Discussion took place regarding the water testing at the town hall, and it was thought that it would be prudent to first find the well and see what it is and its condition prior to doing the sampling. Also it could not be an accurate sample as the water is shut off and it would have to be drawn through a hose.
Eileen Kelly, Chair advised she had received an E-mail from Rick Monahon, Architect and he has talked with the Town Office personnel, the Police Department and has contacted a carpenter who has crawled under the town hall and found no problems there.
Mr. Monahon has a tentative date of meeting with the Town Hall Restoration Committee on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 7:00pm. At this time it was decided to check with Mr. Monahon to see if it would be possible for him to come either on June 22 or the 29th for an update, and Eileen will do this.
Next Meeting:
The next meeting of the Town Hall Restoration Committee is tentatively set for:
Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 7:00pm
Meeting Adjourned 8:16pm
Respectfully Submitted
Marjorie R. Cilley
Secretary
