TOWN HALL RESTORATION COMMITTEE

The Town Hall Restoration Committee met at 2:00pm in the Town Hall after cleaning and setting up for the July 7th Art Show. Those in attendance were Eileen Kelly, Chair, Beth Rodd, Marcia Keller, Caryl Walker, Dick Keller, Phyllis Wilcox, Michele Halsted and Marge Cilley, Secretary.
Discussion and plans for being at the tent at the Town Hall on the 7th of July with informational brochures regarding the Restoration of the Town Hall as well as selling caps, Raffle tickets and accepting donations and pledges. The Art Show will be from 10:00am to 4:00pm, and the tent will be manned during that time. Caryl Walker will make a banner for the tent. Discussion took place regarding other places in town to be visible and available to hand out brochures etc.
Michele Halsted advised she has been in touch with Terry Knowles regarding a tax free legal method of accepting money for the Town Hall Restoration.
Fund Raising ideas were discussed at length.
Application for Seven to Save is due in September and after talking with Rick Monahon, Architect on Monday evening, an up-dated cover letter will be drawn up.
A Fund Raising Press release should be put in the local papers as well after talking with the Architect.
Other topics discussed were the existing Fire Alarm system at the Town Hall and the concern about preventing a catastrophe by inviting a person associated with ADT to meet with the Town Hall Restoration Committee on the 6th of July, for information and additional possibilities.
Raffle drawing date needs to be set, which will be done on Monday evening, at the July 2 meeting.
The down stairs and toilets at the Town Hall need to be marked off as being closed “out of order” during the 5th, 6th and 7th of July.
