Town Hall Restoration Committee Minutes
November 25, 2013
Eileen Kelly, Chair called meeting to order at 7 p.m. with John Greenwood, Mel Pflifle, Audrey Sylvester, John Pflifle, Jim Bibb, Sonny Harris, Sandra Wright, Marsha Keller, Sandy Paul; temporary secretary, Sue Reynolds and Karen Hambleton present.
Jim Bruss of Bruss Construction and Selectman Harry Wright also present.
Mention was made that although Karen Hambleton is employed with Bruss Construction, she does not stand to benefit more than anyone else at the table. A motion was made to nominate Karen Hambleton to the committee by Sue Reynolds and seconded by Marsha Keller.
Motion was made to approve the 10-30-13 minutes and seconded. Motion carried unanimously.
Jim Bruss gave a presentation and began by reviewing the floor plans. It was noted that this is a project estimate. It is not a final project. It is a working document. This is a first presentation of a preliminary document. Bear in mind that this project includes items that were not included at last year’s Town Meeting.
Remember we have applied for grants; will seek in-kind donations; and will be fundraising. The LCHIP executive director and staff came last Monday and did a walk thru. It was well received. The decision from LCHIP will be December 17, 2013 and we will be notified on the 18th. The public will be notified on January 3, 2014.
Jim Bibbo moved that the committee accepts the scope of the project as presented tonight. It was seconded by Marsha Keller.
Discussion of fundraising on the 8th and 14th of December coordinated with other events in the Bradford Village; plant & greens sale to include pie sale and a spaghetti supper on the 14th sponsored by the Masons with proceeds donated to the Town Hall restoration project.
The next meeting of the full Committee is Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 7 p.m. at the Community Center.
There being no other business, meeting adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Sandy Paul
Temporary Secretary
